Saving Money for Your Small Business

Small businesses operate on tight budgets. Modern economic environments change more rapidly than in the past. Most businesses use computers and software to track inventory and orders for customers. Computer systems and maintenance over time can drain a small business of capital.  Software needs and updates are like a newborn baby crying for constant feedings. What is a small business to do?

The answer is cloud computing. Cloud computing is a system of delivering software services to your business computer. Software is housed not on your computer, but in a server in cyberspace. Cloud servicing is a mechanism that delivers the software for a small monthly fee. The advantages for a small business are huge. The business software services update, maintain, and customize the software. A business is only paying for what it uses in a package tailored for efficiency and practicality.

Over the long term, the subscription is cheaper and more reliable than a business owner operating and doing maintenance and installing themselves. The services allow a small business to compete with larger corporations. A small business receives the same service, the same opportunities, and the same benefits as a large business for their niche in the market. This makes a small business highly aligned to customer needs.

As a small business owner, be aware that a large portion of consumers now think and communicate differently. Cloud services reflect what consumers do every day on their computers, cell phones, and tech devices. Consumers want on-demand services or products. Small businesses perform on demand with cloud services. Less distractions, more time for marketing, and more money made.

Many companies struggle with the best way to train their new employees. There are companies out there that spend thousands of dollars just trying to research how to get the right kind of training to their people. If you own a smaller business this is not going to be possible for you. You cannot waste dollars training and you cannot waste time trying to figure out how to train. You need people and you need them to be good right away.

You are best off hiring during the slow season. Yes, you might not need them at that point, but throwing them in during the busy time of year just is not an effective way to manage. You need to get them in during the down time of the season and hope from there that you can have them trained in time when business picks up.

The most cost effective training is on-the-job shadowing. Make sure you pick your best employee. This does not always mean the employee with the most authority. You want the employee with the best work ethics and work habit in the company. You want the employee that knows as much about the Nike clothes you are selling as they do about the proper procedures for selling those clothes. Let your new employee shadow them for a couple of weeks until they get the hang of it.

Your employees are your life source and you need them to be trained just right. You should have a clearly designed system in place for getting the best results from your new hires. It is the best way to run your business.

Personal Management

Personal Management

1. Personal Management

Personal management requires the act of self-care. This means we take time to listen to our bodies. We all know that we need to rest, eat, and exercise for optimal self-care. Many of us also understand the need to tend to our spiritual and emotional needs as well. Awareness is half the battle.

2. Eating Well

Personal management requires that we fuel our bodies with healthy food. This requires discipline. We don’t have to be compulsive about what we consume, but we should be aware. Getting by on junk food and soda for any reason is an excellent way to end up with health issues later in life. Essentially we all need daily recommended amounts of fruits, vegetables, dairy and protein.

3. Exercise

It isn’t all hype, if we don’t use it, we will in fact lose it. Keeping things moving helps us to maintain our body parts. The leg bone is connected to the ankle bone our hearts need to function as well as possible as one of our most prized organs. Cardio exercise forty minutes, three times a week .is a good goal. A gym membership is great, but it doesn’t help you if you don’t go in and work out. If a membership isn’t in your immediate future find alternate ways to exercise. Walking instead of taking the elevator at work helps to increase blood flow.

4. Loving Self

Tending to personal management is the highest form of loving-self. When we take an active role in loving self by tending to our needs we have a better life experience. A light is inside of each of us that once recognized is a way to pass on good will. Having compassion for other living beings helps us to see the world outside of ourselves. This love turns inside out and when we love ourselves we have more love to give away.
