PUBLIC AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT
Reporter's Guide to CA/NV Credit Unions
The Public Affairs Department welcomes any questions you may have about the credit union industry. Department staff can provide you with statistics and information on credit unions in both California and Nevada as well as on the national level. In addition, we can also help you contact credit union leaders throughout both states. Please contact us at any time for assistance.
When Seeking Comment or Information from a Credit Union
You will want to speak with the CEO or manager when seeking a comment or more information about a particular credit union.
Credit union CEOs or managers can usually be reached at the credit union office. At smaller credit unions, the manager or president may also serve in another capacity. He or she may also have limited hours because the person may be a volunteer who works outside the credit union or only part-time in the credit union office. Larger credit unions may have a public relations department or an outside agency to handle media calls.
Another person you might wish to speak with is the board chairman. Member-volunteers sit on credit union boards. These boards are led by a chairman.
