ABOUT THE LEAGUE
The California Credit Union League and the Nevada Credit Union Leagues are the trade associations for credit unions in those states. They serve 400 credit unions in California and Nevada with about 10 million members and more than $109 billion in assets. 
WHAT IS A CREDIT UNION?
Members are united by a common bond of association and democratically
operate the credit union under state or federal regulation.
As of July 2008, there are more than 8,600 credit unions in the United States. About 504 of these are in California and 27 in Nevada. Of the more than 90 million credit union members nationwide, more than nine million are in California and more than 467,000 are in Nevada.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT
The Public Affairs Department welcomes any questions you may have about the credit union industry. Department staff can provide you with statistics and information on credit unions in both California and Nevada as well as on the national level.
